Virtual Leadership Matters: Capturing its Role in Facilitating Knowledge Sharing in Virtual Learning Environment

Many educational institutions and organizations have attempted to encourage knowledge sharing by implementing virtual learning communities. During the Coronavirus pandemic, how utilize communication technologies effectively facilitate among geographically dispersed learners (specifically in education institutions) has become an extremely urgent issue. Our study investigated 88 undergraduate students (nested 10 groups) from a University Southwest China. The research results reveal that self-presence member trust are primary determinants facilitating (explicit vs tacit) environment. Additionally, considering challenges of forming effective collaborations VLE (e.g., great number participants, environmental uncertainty, one-way oriented communication), leadership for improving coordination joint activities was developed. Virtual improves climate environment strengthening relationships between self-presence/virtual sharing. Finally, positive inter-relationship explicit/tacit team performance is confirmed our research.
